Another redesign

It’s been 6 months 7 months since I’ve had a blog on here - and I missed it.  So I spent those 6 months working on a new design - this is version 9.  The last public release was version 3 - so 6 versions were never released.  It’s been an up and down roller coaster of a ride trying to gather enough creative inspiration to do something with this space.

CSS Naked Day: Recap

The reactions to CSS Naked Day seemed to have been a mix set of emotions.  But I think I was more surprised than anybody else visiting my site.  After a couple of minutes tying up a few loose ends (flickr badge using & symbol, and some other minor things) my markup is surprisingly semantic and valid.  I guess I’ve been using the same template for awhile now, adapting from some of the best, and reading a couple of the better books on the subject also helped.  It’s reassuring to know that if somebody chooses not to view my site using css - that everything is still pretty accessible and readable, not to mention functional.

At anyrate, expect to see the event reoccur for years to come.

CSSVault No longer?

One would suspect that after launching a brand new design that there would be a lot more activity as far as updating goes.  But when it comes to CSSVault.com, that’s apparently not the case.  This site launched a new redesign of its css showcase site on April 16th, 2006 - It is now August 9th, 2006 and there hasn’t been a new submission yet.  Talk about running your own project into the ground...So much for #1 CSS Top Sites.

CSS Mania & Thomas Marban

DesignBy Inc was just recently added to two css showcases: CSS Mania CSS Showcase & Thomas Marban’s Screenblog.  Pretty exciting to see some people enjoying our new design over there.  We put many weeks into that design and development, and we still arent even close to being done!  Heres to doing some good for the web!
